Welcome to Capital Kids! It is our joy to work with you and and to love and encourage your children. Our goal in Capital Kids is to point your children towards Jesus. We pray that your children would be transformed into them into the grace-filled boys and girls God intended them to be! We experienced a phenomenal growth in the 2009-10 year! We are excited about 2010-11 with a vision of a relationship-based Capital Kids. This will be achieved through grade specific classrooms, smaller classes, and more consistency in the teacher scheduling!

When does Capital Kids occur?
Capital Kids happens during the 10 am service. Families worship together for the first few songs in the main service and listen to announcements together. Then, children ages 3 through fifth grade are dismissed to go downstairs to Capital Kids!

What do the children do during Capital Kids?
The kids gather in one big group to welcome new visitors, watch a puppet show (every other week), sing worship songs, and collect offering. Capital Kids actively support New Hope Foundation, a home that cares for sick and physically disabled babies who have been abandoned. Capital Kids provide powdered milk for the babies so they can grow up healthy and strong. After the big group gathering, students are dismissed to grade-specific classrooms downstairs. Children participate in a hands-on lesson and enjoy healthy snacks in the classroom. After the main service ends, please come downstairs to pick up your child.

What curriculum is used in Capital Kids?
We use age-specific curriculum from the Children Desiring God series. According to the curriculum Web site (www.childrendesiringgod.org), “Children Desiring God exists to equip the body of Christ to spread to the next generations a passion for the supremacy of God in all things for the joy of all peoples through Jesus Christ. Our aim is to impart to children a vision of God, who He is, and who we are in relation to Him, and to establish them with a foundation of doctrine and truth. We want them biblically grounded, seeing God as the hero of every story, with a God-centered world view and a faith that will hold them when the days of testing come. We want them to love the Lord their God with all their heart, and to delight in Him forever.”

What about children from birth to three years of age?
The smallest members of CCC are watched by volunteers and paid caregivers. The nursery is located in the lower level in the 2nd room on the left side of the downstairs corridor. The nursery is available before and during church.

How can parents get involved?
We would love for you to volunteer in the classrooms by teaching, assisting, providing snacks, or setting up and tearing down the classrooms! We also invite you to share ideas and feedback with us. You can always contact the Capital Kids Director Katie Sorrell at capitalkidsbeijing@gmail.com.
